Tooth extractions are usually a nightmare for kids! However here at crosskeys dental we provide a pleasing and less painful experience with tooth extractions.

Your kid might require a tooth extraction if his/her teeth that have become damaged or decayed, or they have a crowded mouth and there is a need to make room for teeth alignment or if there is infection or gum disease causing loosening of your teeth.

Before tooth extraction a local anesthetic is given to numb the area so your child will not feel the pain. For more difficult children, full sedation can be used. Then using forceps the impacted tooth is grasped and gently rocked back and forth to loosen it from the jaw bone and ligaments that hold it in place. After tooth extraction, a gauze pad is placed into the socket to bite down on it to help stop the bleeding. Sometimes a stitch might be needed to close the gum edges that are usually self-dissolving.

Our experts know how to calm down your anxious kids and explain them things in a way that the process gets easier for all.
